What if?

What if….

Recovery Pirates were made up of long term clean addicts, short term clean addicts, cleaning up addicts and seriously considering cleaning up addicts

Recovery Pirates only rules were common sense, common decency and a clear conscience?

What if….

Recovery Pirates could provide a support system for addicts with families to detox at home?

What if….

Recovery Pirates becomes a support system for addicts before they get clean, when they are thinking about it. Then when the time is right to clean up there are friends who know what they’re facing, and stuff to do like art, pool, meditation, swimming, yoga etc, and all the advice  that people who have done it before can give.

What if….

Recovery Pirates recognised that one of the hardest parts of cleaning up is the hole that’s left in your life, and to address this before a young pirate cleans up.

Would addicts then be in a better position to clean up, would perhaps, cleaning up come more naturally

What if….

Recovery pirates understood that for some addicts addiction is a cycle, and that relapse is all a part of  it

  1. Indeed! I would not describe myself as an addict and have strived to be far from that since leaving Norfolk in my teens. However I know that it is my desire to fill a void with something and to blur out some harsh realities. I want to help those with addiction to see things the way I do for a while; To learn from them and understand my own vulnerabilities.
